Broncos dismiss assistant coach following alleged altercation with police officer

Head coach Sean Payton stated that the decision to part ways with Wilhoite was made after thorough discussions, citing the serious nature of the allegations against him. Wilhoite was charged with second-degree assault on a police officer, obstruction of a peace officer, and criminal mischief. Wilhoite had been on Payton’s staff with the New Orleans Saints before joining the Broncos in the past two seasons.
