Browns Set to Release Starting Safety Thornhill
Daniel Oyefusi, an ESPN reporter, covers the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are releasing starting safety Juan Thornhill with one year left on his contract, saving $3.4 million in cap space. Thornhill signed a three-year, $21 million deal in 2023 but struggled with injuries and playing time. He played 57% of defensive snaps in 2024. In his two seasons with the Browns, Thornhill had 103 tackles and four pass breakups. Thornhill, a former second-round pick of the Chiefs, won two Super Bowls before joining the Browns. The move was first reported by NFL Network.
