Patriots assistant, Belichick’s son, removed from coaching staff
Mike Reiss, an NFL reporter at ESPN covering the New England Patriots since 1997, announced that safeties coach Brian Belichick will not return to the team in 2025. Belichick, the son of former Patriots coach Bill Belichick, is known for his coaching abilities and high standards. The Patriots’ coaching staff saw changes with new head coach Mike Vrabel replacing Jerod Mayo. Vrabel hired defensive coordinator Terrell Williams and did not retain Belichick or cornerbacks coach Mike Pellegrino. The staff includes assistants with ties to Vrabel’s time as the Titans’ head coach. Other key hires on offense include Doug Marrone and Thomas Brown under coordinator Josh McDaniels. Vrabel also retained special teams coordinator Jeremy Springer and assistant Tom Quinn.
