Al Golden, Notre Dame’s defensive coordinator, considering departure for Bengals position
Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden may leave the team to join the Bengals as their new defensive coordinator. The Bengals have considered Golden for the position and waited until Notre Dame’s season ended before pursuing him. If hired, it would be his second time working in Cincinnati, previously serving as linebackers coach. Golden has also had success as a college head coach at Temple and Miami. Additionally, he briefly played in the NFL for the Patriots as an undrafted rookie tight end in 1992. Golden, 55, brings a wealth of experience to any potential coaching position.
