“Bears Conduct Interview with Former NFL RB Eddie George in Search for New Coach”
The Chicago Bears interviewed former NFL running back and Tennessee State coach Eddie George for their head coaching vacancy. George, who won the Heisman Trophy in 1995, has a 24-22 record in four seasons with Tennessee State and was named the Big South-OVC coach of the year. He is the 17th confirmed candidate interviewed by the Bears, who are looking to replace Matt Eberflus. George had a successful career in the NFL, setting records with the Tennessee Titans and earning awards such as Offensive Rookie of the Year and All-Pro honors. He joined Tennessee State in 2021 and previously worked with the Bears as part of the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship.
