NCAA penalizes Las Vegas Raiders player Antonio Pierce for Arizona State University violations
NCAA announced an eight-year show-cause order for Las Vegas Raiders coach Antonio Pierce due to recruiting violations at Arizona State, involving impermissible contact with prospects and tampering.
Pierce was found to be the ringleader in orchestrating the violations, with former analyst Anthony Garnett also receiving a five-year show-cause order.
Former booster Regina Jackson, mother of quarterback Jayden Daniels, assisted in setting up impermissible visits.
ASU was previously punished by the NCAA with probation, fines, vacated games, and recruiting restrictions.
Pierce resigned from ASU in 2022 and is now the Raiders coach. The team declined to comment on the show-cause order.
