Jets keeping holdout Reddick as an option for opener
Haason Reddick, a Pro Bowl edge rusher for the New York Jets, has yet to participate in any practices or meetings with the team during the offseason. Despite this holdout, coach Robert Saleh believes there is still a chance for Reddick to play in the season opener. Reddick is being fined $50,000 per day for his absence, totaling $1.8 million in training camp fines. He is seeking a new contract that reflects his performance as one of the league’s top edge rushers. The Jets acquired Reddick in a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles, who were aware of his contract demands. Despite the stalemate, Saleh has not reached out personally to Reddick to resolve the situation.
