Monte Kiffin and other standout coordinators deserve recognition in the Hall of Fame
Monte Kiffin, former defensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is deserving of Hall of Fame honors for his impact on the NFL. He helped create the innovative “Tampa 2” defense strategy that changed the way defense was played at the highest level. Along with head coach Tony Dungy, Kiffin emphasized speed and turnovers, making it difficult for opposing teams to make big plays. Despite the Pro Football Hall of Fame not typically considering coordinators for induction, Kiffin’s contributions to the game make him one of the best defensive coordinators in NFL history. Other influential coordinators, such as Dick LeBeau and Buddy Ryan, also deserve recognition for their innovations.
