Contracts AFC teams wish they could rid themselves of: Let freedom ring
NFL teams, in the spirit of celebrating freedom on July 4th, want to be free from costly contracts. Yardbarker NFL writers identify one contract each AFC team would like to get rid of. In the AFC East, teams like the Buffalo Bills regret signing Von Miller, the Miami Dolphins have buyer’s remorse with Mike White, New England Patriots regret the JuJu Smith-Schuster deal, and the New York Jets might cut Allen Lazard. Similarly, in the AFC West, the Denver Broncos carry dead cap money from releasing Russell Wilson, while the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders have regrets over offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor and defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, respectively. Finally, the Los Angeles Chargers may rethink their contract with Joey Bosa. In the AFC North, the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals have concerns about offensive tackle contracts, while the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers are second-guessing deals with Deshaun Watson and Larry Ogunjobi. Moving on to the AFC South, the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Titans have contracts they are reconsidering for various players.
