Kansas City Chiefs defensive end BJ Thompson suffered seizures and went into cardiac arrest during a team meeting at the practice facility. Vice president Rick Burkholder provided a positive update, stating that Thompson is alert, awake, and progressing well. Thompson was treated by team medical staff and emergency responders before being transported to the hospital. He was sedated and on a ventilator overnight but has since regained consciousness and been removed from the ventilator. Burkholder mentioned that no diagnosis has been made yet. The Chiefs have rallied around Thompson, with coach Andy Reid praising the team’s support during this difficult time.
