Brees had ‘another 3 years’ in him sans arm woes

Brees was poised to play for ‘another 3 years’ despite arm issues

Katherine Terrell, a Baton Rouge native and LSU graduate, returned to ESPN in 2022 to cover the New Orleans Saints after previously covering the Cincinnati Bengals. Recently, former Saints quarterback Drew Brees revealed that degeneration in his right shoulder led him to retire in 2020. Despite feeling great physically, Brees can no longer throw with his right arm. He shared his struggles with a lack of closure after retiring and discussed potentially entering coaching or broadcasting. Brees will be the lone player inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in 2024, recognizing his 15-year career in New Orleans and five seasons with the San Diego Chargers.
