Lamar Jackson’s questionable offseason choice leading to substantial financial loss
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson opted out of a $750,000 annual offseason bonus by missing 80 percent of voluntary workouts. Despite falling short of the required participation, Jackson’s absence was not mandatory and there are reports that he has been working hard on his own. Given his $185 million guaranteed contract, the missed bonus may not be a major loss. Jackson will have the opportunity to earn the same bonus in each of the next three offseasons if he chooses to participate in the required workouts.
