Jets ‘owe us one’: NFL explains prime-time slate

Jets ‘owe us one’: NFL clarifies reasoning behind prime-time schedule

Rich Cimini, an ESPN staff writer covering the New York Jets and the NFL, reported that the Jets secured a record number of prime-time games due to the appeal of Aaron Rodgers. The NFL’s VP of broadcast planning, Mike North, acknowledged the Jets’ high number of night games in the first 11 weeks, attributing it to Rodgers’ star power. Despite Rodgers’ injury last season, the Jets are optimistic about his return and improved roster. The NFL also announced two Christmas Day games for 2025, with a Netflix game in the afternoon and a Prime game in the evening, as well as Tom Brady’s broadcasting debut for Fox Sports.
