Contract extensions for Brock Purdy of the 49ers and Jalen Hurts of the Eagles compared
Tim Kawakami suggested that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy could sign a deal similar to Jalen Hurts’ five-year contract extension. Hurts signed a $255M contract in April 2023, with $179.3M guaranteed over four years. Purdy isn’t eligible for an extension until after the 2024 season. Both quarterbacks made it to the Super Bowl but didn’t win. The 49ers might face salary-cap restrictions when negotiating with Purdy next year. The Eagles managed cap hits well with Hurts’ deal. Purdy had impressive stats in his first full season as an NFL QB1 and could potentially reset the quarterback market in 2025.
