Stephon Gilmore remains on the market; no agreement with Panthers in sight
Panthers General Manager Dan Morgan had expressed interest in signing free agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore after the draft, but as of now, there has been no progress towards a contract agreement. Gilmore, who played for the Panthers in 2021, has not received any offers from the team or any other team due to his age (33) and recent injury. Despite his strong ties to South Carolina, where he was born and played college football, Gilmore’s future in the NFL remains uncertain. While he may still have something to offer on the field, no team has made a move to sign him yet.
