James Smith-Williams joins Falcons as defensive end
The Atlanta Falcons have signed free agent James Smith-Williams to a one-year deal, adding depth to their defensive line for the upcoming season. Smith-Williams previously played for the Washington Commanders, appearing in 13 games with seven starts last season. A 2020 seventh-round draft pick, he has played in 55 games with 27 starts and has recorded seven sacks in his four-year career. Agent Mike McCartney announced the signing, marking Smith-Williams’ first time playing outside of Washington. The addition of Smith-Williams brings experience and depth to the Falcons’ defensive line rotation.
