Packers should offer a contract extension to UFL kicker Jake Bates
Jake Bates became a hero in the UFL by making a game-winning 64-yard field goal for the Michigan Panthers. This impressive kick caught the attention of NFL teams, including the Green Bay Packers, who are in need of a reliable kicker. The Packers currently have veteran Greg Joseph and second-year kicker Anders Carlson on their roster, but neither has inspired confidence. Carlson, drafted in the sixth round in 2023, has potential but his accuracy is lacking. Bates’ long kick of over 10 yards more than Carlson’s makes him a strong contender for the Packers.
