Lions address massive need via trade with Buccaneers

Lions make significant roster upgrade by trading with Buccaneers

Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes made a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to acquire cornerback Carlton Davis III to address a major offseason need. In exchange, the Lions sent two picks, including a 2024 third-round pick, to the Buccaneers. Davis, 28, had a solid season with 52 tackles, two interceptions, and nine pass breakups for the Buccaneers. While he has missed games due to injury in the past, Davis is expected to bolster the Lions’ defense, which struggled in pass defense last season. The trade was a strategic move by Holmes amidst a flurry of free agent signings in the NFL.
