Cowboys to exercise fifth-year option on Micah Parsons as defensive end
The Dallas Cowboys have decided to exercise the fifth-year option on Micah Parsons’ contract, but they are designating him as a defensive end instead of a linebacker. This decision could lead to a grievance from his agent David Mulugheta. Parsons has played the majority of his snaps at defensive end in recent seasons. He is expected to become the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history with a long-term extension in the next year. Parsons has an impressive track record with three Pro Bowl appearances and two All-Pro honors in three years, as well as having 40.5 career sacks and 89 quarterback hits.
