Report: Cowboys exercise Micah Parsons’ fifth-year option at new position
The Dallas Cowboys will exercise Micah Parsons’ fifth-year option as a defensive end, saving $3 million compared to if he were labeled as a linebacker. Parsons, a first-round pick in 2021, has been a standout player with multiple awards and accolades. While Parsons likely won’t play under his option and will receive a long-term contract, the Cowboys have other upcoming contract decisions with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. Prescott is entering the final year of his current contract, while Lamb is slated to play under his fifth-year option in 2024. The team has until May 2 to apply the fifth-year option to Parsons and other 2021 first-round picks.
