Warriors Coach Kerr’s Role in Commanders Hiring of Quinn
Warriors coach Steve Kerr endorsed Dan Quinn for the Commanders’ head coach position before Washington officially hired him. Kerr and Quinn had a close relationship through their agents, who work for the same company. Kerr, along with other NBA representatives, played a role in Quinn’s hiring process. Former Warriors general manager Bob Myers, who won four championships with Kerr, also supported Quinn’s hiring. The Commanders had a strong Bay Area presence in their hiring process, including poaching Adam Peters from the 49ers and receiving support from former 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman.
