Chiefs offensive lineman comforts boy with WWE belt after shooting incident

Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Trey Smith shared a WWE title belt to help calm a young boy during the aftermath of a mass shooting at the team’s Super Bowl celebration. Smith noticed the frightened boy and gave him the belt, reassuring him that he was the champion and that no one would hurt him. He also talked to the boy about wrestling to take his mind off the situation. Fellow Chiefs player James Winchester also helped keep people calm during the shooting. Chiefs coach Andy Reid also took the time to comfort others at the scene. Three people were initially detained and firearms were recovered during the shooting at Union Station.
