Jim Harbaugh rumored to be departing Michigan to coach Los Angeles Chargers
Jim Harbaugh is leaving the University of Michigan to become the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers. He had a successful nine-year stint with the Wolverines, including winning the school’s first national championship since 1997. Prior to that, he had a winning record as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers and also had success at Stanford and the University of San Diego. Harbaugh has a prior relationship with the Chargers, having played quarterback for them in the late 1990s. The Chargers are looking for a coach and general manager after recent firings. Harbaugh has expressed interest in returning to the NFL and has had previous discussions with other teams.
