The NFL determines its 14 playoff teams based on records, unlike the College Football Playoff which has a selection committee choosing four teams out of 133 schools. CBS Sports decided to create a committee of writers, editors, and other talent to determine the four NFL playoff teams and the semifinal matchups. The top four teams chosen by the committee were the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, and Dallas Cowboys. The Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs were controversially left out. The NFL Playoff semifinal matchups presented by the committee were the 49ers vs. Cowboys, and the Eagles vs. Ravens.
