Former NFL player and his former college teammates tragically killed in a collision in Houston
33-year-old former NFL player DJ Hayden was among six people killed in a collision in downtown Houston. A speeding driver ran a red light, causing the crash. The incident occurred during the University of Houston’s homecoming weekend. Hayden and former University of Houston cornerback Zach McMillian were among those killed. Hayden suffered a nearly fatal heart injury during college, ending his football career there. He played for the Oakland Raiders, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Washington Commanders during his time in the NFL. A former University of Houston football player, Ralph Oragwu, was also killed in the collision, and a fourth former player has yet to be identified.
