Veteran K Brett Maher Let Go by Rams Following Three Missed Kicks in Steelers’ Loss
The Los Angeles Rams have released veteran kicker Brett Maher after he missed three significant kicks in Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Maher, who joined the Rams after training camp, went 17-for-23 on field-goal attempts with all of his misses coming from kicks 46 yards or longer. Rams head coach Sean McVay expressed disappointment with Maher’s performance, stating that he needs to be better. The Rams have signed former Colts kicker Lucas Havrisik as his replacement. Maher is most known for his time with the Dallas Cowboys, where he made headlines for missing four extra-point attempts in a playoff game.
