Cowboys rookies have made minimal impact thus far
The Dallas Cowboys have a reputation for being one of the best teams at drafting in the NFL. However, their 2023 rookie class has yet to make a significant impact through the first five games of the season. Defensive tackle Mazi Smith has struggled to consistently see playing time and has not made a difference on the field. Tight end Luke Schoonmaker has also failed to make an impact, receiving limited targets and drops. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, a promising pick, is out for the season with an ACL tear. The Cowboys will need more production from their rookie draft picks if they want to succeed.
