Vikings bolster run game, get Akers from Rams

Vikings Strengthen Running Game with Akers Acquisition from Rams

The Minnesota Vikings have acquired running back Cam Akers from the Los Angeles Rams in response to their struggling rushing game. The Vikings, who currently have the lowest rushing yards in the NFL, have started the season 0-2 and are looking to improve their running game. The deal includes a swap of draft picks and also involves conditional picks for both teams. Akers will be reunited with Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell and offensive coordinator Wes Phillips, who were both with the Rams in previous seasons. Akers had previously been deactivated by the Rams, leading to speculation about his future with the team.
