Texans’ Rookie QB C.J. Stroud’s Historic Day Dimmed by Loss
Houston Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud had an impressive performance in the team’s 31-20 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Despite the loss, Stroud threw for 384 yards, the second-most by a player age 21 or younger since 1970. He also threw his first two career touchdown passes and had no interceptions. Stroud’s performance was especially impressive considering the Texans’ offensive line was missing four starters. Despite the team’s 0-2 start, Stroud’s teammates and coaches praised his ability and showed confidence in his potential. Wide receiver Nico Collins also had a career day, going over 100 yards for the first time in his career.
