Super Bowl 2024 odds: Chiefs favorites to win Super Bowl LVIII

Hope springs eternal for NFL teams and their fans as squads added talent at the recent NFL Draft.

What did the draft mean from a betting perspective? FOX Bet has the Kansas City Chiefs as the favorite to pull off the repeat after Patrick Mahomes & Co. won Super Bowl LVII, the franchise’s second title in four seasons.

The Chiefs currently sit at +600 at FOX Bet, bet $10 to win $70 total.

The last team to repeat in the NFL were the New England Patriots in Super Bowls XXVIII and XXXIX.

Right behind the Chiefs as the favorites to win the Super Bowl are the Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles.

With the NFL Draft in the books, let’s dive into next season’s Super Bowl odds, courtesy of FOX Bet.

The Philadelphia Eagles, who drafted Georgia products Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith and traded for D’Andre Swift, saw a slight nudge in their odds from +900 to +850 (bet $10 to win $95 total), leaving them with the fourth-best preseason odds.

“Philadelphia sticks out as the rich-getting-richer team and received the most backing throughout the weekend, leading to a small trim from +900 to +850,” FOX Bet sports trader Matt Griffe said.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs currently sit at +600 to win it all next season at FOX Bet (bet $10 to win $70 total), followed closely by the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers (each +800, bet $10 to win $90 total).

Is being one of the title favorites a good thing for Chiefs, Bills and 49ers fans and bettors? Only six times has the preseason favorite gone on to win the Big Game.

Who was the preseason chalk heading into this past season? The Bills were the favorites to win it all, entering the season at +600, but Buffalo exited the postseason in the divisional round.

In the most recent Super Bowl odds update at FOX Bet, the Aaron Rodgers Effect was on display.

Rodgers, who won the NFL MVP four times when he was the quarterback for the Packers, was traded to the Jets prior to the draft.

As a result, the Jets’ latest odds to win it all dropped to +1600 from +4500. The Packers’ odds, meanwhile, slipped to +5000 from +3000.

The team making the most noticeable move up the odds chart? Say hello to the Seattle Seahawks, who went from +8000 to +4500 after drafting 10 players, most notably Illinois cornerback Devon Witherspoon with the No. 5 pick and Ohio State receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba with the 20th pick.

“Bettors loved Seattle’s draft, as well,” Griffe said. “That’s a team we were previously [longer] on than the market, causing a significant [odds] cut.”
