Lions DC Kelvin Sheppard Delivers Inspiring Message to Challenging Defense
The Detroit Lions’ defense is currently underperforming, giving up the most total yards and passing yards in the NFL, while ranking poorly in points allowed. Defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard downplayed negative perceptions, stating that both praise and criticism are “poison” and asserting his unit can contribute to the team’s success. Despite defensive struggles, the Lions’ offense is strong, ranking fourth in points and sixth in total yards. Sheppard, now in his second season as defensive coordinator after Aaron Glenn’s departure, aims to improve performance ahead of their upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals.
