Odell Beckham Jr. Receives a Unique New Jersey Number from the Vikings
Odell Beckham Jr. is signing with the Minnesota Vikings as a free agent, wearing the No. 9 jersey previously held by quarterback JJ McCarthy, who was traded to the Giants. McCarthy, a 2024 NFL Draft pick and a disappointment in Minnesota, is also starting fresh with a new number in New York. Beckham, 33, comes to the Vikings after being released by the Giants and will initially join the practice squad. His arrival is expected to benefit his on-field connections with fellow LSU alum Justin Jefferson and head coach Kevin O’Connell, his former offensive coordinator with the Rams.
