NFL Requests DHS to Remove Post Comparing Violent Tackles to Immigrant Treatment
The NFL has requested the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) remove a video that compares Brian Dawkins’ violent football hits to immigration enforcement, captioned “Our time has come.” Dawkins, a Hall of Famer and nine-time Pro Bowler, stated he did not permit the use of his image in the DHS post. The video coincided with claims of a migrant caravan approaching the southern border. Previously, DHS faced backlash for another post featuring IndyCar driver Pato O’Ward, which highlighted an immigration detention center and used his number without consent, unsettling many in the racing community.
