Man Impersonates 49ers Player to Defraud Women of $1.3 Million, According to FBI

Federal authorities have arrested Daejon Love, 35, and Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, for allegedly scamming over 26 women out of approximately $1.3 million by posing as a fictional San Francisco 49ers player. The FBI arrested them on August 24 in Boise, Idaho, charging them with conspiracy and wire fraud. The scheme, which began in February 2022, involved Love creating fake identities on dating apps and presenting himself as a wealthy investor, while Chan acted as his adviser. Victims were promised high returns on nonexistent investments, but none reported receiving any money back.
