Bears Starting Players to Rest Against Colts
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields will not be playing in the team’s second preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts, according to coach Matt Eberflus. Eberflus explained that Fields and select starters will not play due to the valuable work they have already done during joint practices with the Colts. Fields had a strong performance in the Bears’ first preseason game, but Eberflus believes it is important for the backups to get more reps. The decision about whether Fields will play in the preseason finale has not been made yet. Injuries also affected the Bears’ offense during practice.
