Free agent quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, 34, is contemplating retirement, sources revealed on Monday. He has been with the Los Angeles Rams for the past two seasons as a backup to Matthew Stafford. Recently, Rams coach Sean McVay mentioned Garoppolo and Kirk Cousins as potential backup options, but Cousins has since joined the Raiders. In the 2025 season, Garoppolo played in three games but didn’t attempt a pass, except during the 2024 finale where he threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns. Over 12 seasons, he has completed 67.4% of his passes for 15,828 yards, with 96 touchdowns.
