Prescott guides Cowboys to victory over struggling Commanders in Christmas triple-header kickoff
Dak Prescott threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns as the Dallas Cowboys narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders 30-23. Despite building an 18-point lead, the Cowboys had to hold off a late comeback attempt by the Commanders. Both teams were eliminated from playoff contention, making the game less significant. Prescott tied a franchise record with his 30th touchdown pass of the season. Washington’s Josh Johnson, filling in for injured quarterbacks, threw for 198 yards but no touchdowns. The Cowboys defense came up big with six sacks, including three by Jer’Zhan Newton. Dallas secured the win with two late field goals from Brandon Aubrey.
