Patriots trade S Kyle Dugger to Steelers

Steelers acquire Patriots’ S Kyle Dugger in trade deal

The Patriots made their second trade of the day by sending safety Kyle Dugger and a seventh-round pick to the Steelers in exchange for a sixth-round choice. The Steelers previously traded Minkah Fitzpatrick, leaving a hole in their secondary. Dugger was a second-round pick in 2020 and has played in 81 games with 69 starts. He signed a four-year, $58 million contract extension in the 2024 offseason. Despite playing with a high-ankle sprain last season, Dugger had tightrope surgery on his ankle in January. The Patriots attempted to trade him before the season but ended up keeping him for seven games this season.
