Celebrating Haruki Murakami: An Evening of Words and Music in New York City
Japanese author Haruki Murakami will be honored in Manhattan with “The Murakami Mix Tape” event on December 11. The evening will feature readings from Murakami’s books and performances by jazz artist Jason Moran, inspired by the musical references in Murakami’s work. Murakami will receive the Japan Society Award at the event where he will give opening remarks. Japan Society President Joshua W. Walker praised Murakami as a singular author and the event aims to celebrate him in New York City.
