Buccaneers release Sanders following ejection from game
On August 24, 2025, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers waived rookie safety Shilo Sanders, son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. He was ejected from a preseason game for throwing a punch and later flagged for pass interference. The team hopes he gets claimed on waivers as they trim their rosters to 53 players by the deadline. Sanders was competing for the fourth safety spot but was unable to secure it. Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles emphasized the importance of not throwing punches in the league. Despite the setback, Sanders remains hopeful for his NFL career.
