Saints ink RB Akers to one-year contract following successful tryout
Katherine Terrell returned to ESPN in 2022 to cover the New Orleans Saints after previously covering the Cincinnati Bengals. The Saints signed running back Cam Akers to a one-year deal following a successful tryout at minicamp. Akers, a former second-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams, has also played for the Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans. He has amassed over 2,000 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns in his five-year NFL career. Despite tearing his Achilles in 2021, Akers returned to help the Rams win Super Bowl LVI. The Saints are excited to have him on the team due to his experience and talent.
