Ravens, Cowboys, and Dolphins Awarded 4 Compensatory Picks Each
Baltimore, Dallas, and Miami were awarded four compensatory picks each in the upcoming NFL draft based on their losses and signings in last year’s free agency. The San Francisco 49ers also received four picks, two from the free agency formula and two for developing DeMeco Ryans as a head coach. Two other teams received picks for having minorities hired as head coaches or general managers. In total, 35 compensatory draft picks were awarded to 15 teams for the draft. The picks are awarded based on teams losing more or better free agents than they acquired and for minorities hired as head coaches or general managers for other organizations.
