Backup OL Smith out for season with ACL tear
Marcel Louis-Jacques, an ESPN reporter, covered the Miami Dolphins preseason game where offensive lineman Kion Smith suffered a torn ACL and will miss the 2024 season. Smith, who normally plays tackle, was starting at left guard when he was injured. The Dolphins placed him on injured reserve and brought back Chasen Hines. With projected starting center Aaron Brewer also injured, the team may need to add depth to their offensive line. Smith had played nine games in the previous season and was on both the practice squad and active roster since 2021. Head coach Mike McDaniel described Brewer as “week to week” with his injury.
