Chicago Bears 1985 Legendary Team to Create History as Steve McMichael Gets Inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2024
With the induction of Steve McMichael, the 1985 Chicago Bears’ legendary defense now boasts four Hall of Famers. Led by defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan, the ’85 Bears allowed just 12.4 points per game in the regular season and dominated the Patriots in Super Bowl XX. McMichael was a key player in their victory, recording one of the team’s seven sacks in the game. The ’85 Bears’ defensive line is now among the best in NFL history, along with other iconic units like the Steelers’ “Steel Curtain” and the Cowboys’ “Doomsday” D-lines. None of these units, however, can claim the distinction of three Hall of Famers like the ’85 Bears.
