Cowboys defensive end Williams out with a torn ACL
Dallas Cowboys’ pass rusher, Sam Williams, suffered a torn ACL and partial MCL tear during training camp, ending his season before it even began. Williams had 8.5 sacks in his first two seasons with the team and was expected to be a key part of their defense behind DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons. The Cowboys selected Marshawn Kneeland in the second round of the draft, who has been impressing in training camp. Despite other defensive ends on the roster, including Viliami Fehoko Jr., Tyrus Wheat, Durrell Johnson, and Chauncey Golston, the loss of Williams is a significant blow to the team’s pass rush capabilities.
