Another veteran player departs from the Broncos
The Denver Broncos are releasing veteran tight end Chris Manhertz due to a cap crunch, saving them over $2M in cap space. Manhertz, who played 16 games last season but had minimal impact on offense, is known for his pass-blocking abilities. He previously played for the Panthers and Jaguars before joining the Broncos on a two-year, $6M deal. With Greg Dulcich dealing with injury issues, the Broncos will need to find a new solution at tight end. The release of Manhertz comes shortly after the team cut Justin Simmons, their longest-tenured player, in an effort to free up cap space for potential upgrades in free agency.
