Falcons part ways with experienced tight end Jonnu Smith
The Atlanta Falcons have decided to release tight end Jonnu Smith less than a year after trading for him. Smith had a productive season under former head coach Arthur Smith, posting career highs in receptions and yards. By cutting Smith, the Falcons will save $6.5 million against the cap. Smith expressed gratitude for his time with the organization in a social media post. He has played in 107 games, making 78 starts and accumulating over 2,400 yards and 20 touchdowns in his career. With Smith gone, the Falcons have Kyle Pitts, John FitzPatrick, and Tucker Fisk as tight ends for the 2024 season.
