Vikings Offensive Coordinator Phillips Enters Guilty Plea for Reduced Charge
Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Wes Phillips has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor careless driving charge following a 2023 traffic stop in Minneapolis. As part of the plea agreement, he will pay a $300 fine, perform eight hours of community work, and attend a hearing in Hennepin County District Court. Phillips was stopped for impaired driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.10, above the legal limit of 0.08. Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell expressed disappointment, and Phillips acknowledged not meeting the NFL and Vikings’ standards. He stated that he will accept any discipline, learn from his mistake, and move forward with a positive attitude.
