Steelers release former No. 2 overall pick after two seasons
After Super Bowl LVIII, the Steelers released three players, including quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, who had a 2-5 record as a starter with the team. Trubisky previously played four seasons with the Bears and spent the 2021 season as a backup. The release of Trubisky was not surprising given the Steelers’ plans for next season.
