Coaching staff of Jaguars undergoes major change
The Jacksonville Jaguars have fired Mike Caldwell, their defensive coordinator, following a late-season collapse. The team is also letting go of other members of the defensive staff. Despite significant investments in the defense, including free agents and high draft picks, the Jaguars did not improve, with DVOA ranking their defense 26th. Not making changes on offense despite disappointing results has also contributed to the decision to fire the coaching staff. This means that by the 2024 season, the Jaguars will have had four defensive coordinators in five years. Mike Caldwell, who played 11 NFL seasons, has been an NFL assistant for the past 16 years.
